Inbox, activity & Greenhouse
Separate messages that need you from the activity happening around them.
Newton offers several ways to keep track of work. Use Inbox for messages and review, Activity for the record of what happened, and Greenhouse when you want several live terminals in view.
Inbox: read and respond
Open Inbox from the left sidebar. Conversation titles sit in a list; selecting one opens its messages in the reading area. Filter by All, Needs you, Unread, or Archived to narrow your attention.
Inbox is inside Newton. A bot leaving an Inbox message has not sent an email. Sending through an external service requires that service and a separate action.
Activity: see what happened
Open Activity near the bottom of the sidebar for recorded task, routine, and delivery activity. The activity strip at the bottom offers a wider view of bot activity. Read failure or waiting details before deciding that a task is finished.
Kanban’s Needs you column and attention badges point to work that needs review. They complement Inbox; use the task itself to inspect its specific blocker or result.
Greenhouse: terminals side by side
Open Greenhouse near the bottom of the sidebar. Assign a bot to each pane, choosing across branches. A pane identifies both the teammate and its branch, so similarly named bots remain distinguishable.
Use Add pane for more room, up to six panes, or remove a pane you no longer need. These are live provider terminals, not task summaries. Typing into one sends input to that bot’s CLI.
Choose the surface for the question
- “What needs my answer?” → Inbox or Kanban’s Needs you column.
- “Did the scheduled run finish?” → the routine’s run details and Activity.
- “What are several bots doing right now?” → Greenhouse.
- “What did we say in an earlier session?” → Session logs.
