Meet Newton: a home for your work
A Mac workspace for your projects, AI teammates, and the context that helps good work move forward. Introducing Newton’s private preview.
Good work rarely fits into one conversation. There is a brief to remember, a folder of files, decisions made along the way, and a next step that still needs doing. When that context is scattered, starting again can become part of the job.
Newton is a Mac app built around keeping that work together. Each project gets a branch: a place for its team, knowledge, tools, and the work it produces. The aim is simple: spend less time reconstructing what you were doing, and more time moving it forward.
A place for the whole idea
A branch holds more than a chat history. It gives an idea a place to develop, with a Board for the work, shared knowledge for context, and workspaces for the bots helping you carry it out.
That could be a website, a piece of writing, or a project with several different kinds of work. You bring the objective and decide what the team should do. Newton helps keep the pieces connected.
Your tools, with their boundaries intact
Newton works with your own Claude Code and Codex sign-ins. Their permission checks still apply. Newton organizes the work around those tools; it does not replace your provider accounts or bypass their controls.
Your project files stay on your Mac. Connected AI providers may process information as part of the tasks you give them, so local files do not mean that every part of the workflow runs offline.
Keep in touch through Appleseed
Appleseed is Newton’s iPhone companion. Pair it with your Mac to return to your workspace from your phone, reconnect to a saved session, and pause or resume work.
The companion is part of the private preview. Its TestFlight build has been submitted to Apple; invitations depend on beta approval. A Newton account and access to the Mac app are separate from a TestFlight invitation.
Starting small
Newton 0.3.0 is available to approved private-preview accounts on Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. If you already have access, sign in to your account to download Newton and find setup instructions.
This is an early release. We are keeping the preview small while we learn from real use and improve the experience. On this blog, we will share what we are building and why. The changelog will keep a separate, practical record of what has shipped.
Welcome to Newton. A little space to do good work.
